Sea of Plenty

Sea of Plenty is on display in Projektraum Kunstquartier Bethanien Gallery August 25th – 10th of Spetember.

This hand-embroidered
curtain represents an artifact from a (speculative) future in which water on Earth is scarce and sought after. Just like the deadstock fabrics and plastic beads it’s made of.

I hang here a memorial to the luxuries past.
A silken epitaph to the echoing ripples ashore.
A shy bouquet for the bygone splendours of waters no more.
I veil the silver glory of the seas of plenty
spelling out that which cannot last.
The wet decadence and the lush tinsel of the past.
